Blackrock Rugby club is one of Ireland’s leading Women’s Rugby teams and competes in the Women’s AIL. The Club has a rich history and has produced many Leinster and irish legends over the years, including Leinster and Ireland Captains.
The club is committed to developing the Women’s game for generations to come and has a strong Mini’s section with U8, U10 and U12’s groups competing in the Metro leagues, and a youth section for U14’s and U16’s, hoping to following in the footsteps of their AIL winning Senior Women’s team, one of the leading women’s Teams in the country

But what makes the club particularly special is the quality of the coaches involved.The Mini’s section is led by 3 current Ireland internationals, which mean girls are exposed to the very best coaching ad playing techniques and approaches. Hannah O’Connor and Christy Haney lead the development of the Mini’s programme, whilst Christy is joined by Aoife Wafer for hands on Coaching and are often joined by other Leinster and Ireland players, especially on Tuesday nights, when training runs just before the main ladies first XV training session
The focus is on Fun and effective skills sessions, to give young Girls every opportunity to develop rugby skills in a pleasant and supportive atmosphere.

The club runs two sessions each week with an open session each Tuesday at 18:15, and a full mini’s session on a Sunday at 10 for U8’s and U10’s and 11 am for U12’s, U14’s and U16’s. So if you want to try it out, come along to a session and see whether rugby suits you.
